very difficult in clay soil. find a high spot for better drainage. extraordinary color combination of chartreuse foliage & cornflower blue flowers! self-seeds a bit, but never invasive. HATES wet feet. Bees go bonkers for blooms. Flowers when others are winding down.

LOVE this shrub - flowy form if unpruned, golden chartreuse leaves, blue flower spires in early fall, no extra irrigation given... it is a winner in my book!

This wonderful shrub is in full bloom in September in western NY. It has bloomed in a partial sunny location and the honey bees love it -- a beautiful blue!
