Maintenance Notes:Blooms in late summer. Grows in any soil unless it is either really wet or dry. Prune in late fall or early spring. Can be heavily pruned, although this is usually not necessary. Prefers medium moisture. Deciduous shrub. Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees and shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application.

I originally had 3 of these in large pots, but 2 of them didn't make it, so I moved the survivor to a spot in the garden as a specimen plant last fall. It did well in my zone 7 garden, but the summer was very hot and dry. Now that Sept is here and it has cooled off and we've had more rain, it is in full bloom again and looks beautiful. It truly is pure white.

I have 2 of these plants and they are superb! They offer a nice perky green with spontaneous white stand-out flowers all over adding a nice shady backdrop to this little cozy area I am designing as a respite from the heat of the late afternoon/evening sun where I intend to sit and enjoy some of my time sipping Iced Tea drinks and watching my hummingbirds and butterflies. These look nice near my Little Duckling Clematis trellis and seem to enhance them. I have a little garden spot next to the side of a shed and then the Rose of Sharon bushes. To the left is a Red bud tree, and then a blue ice cypress to form a sort of squarish shady space with the front being open. I am hoping to complete this with some sort of nice picket fencing or so, a swing, and some stepping stones, a gazing ball, and a little attractive fountain for a relaxing area.

Survived drought northeast summer for its first season and bloomed beautiful pure white flowers on dark green foliage. Watering well to ready for winter,hopefully next spring buds will return. Love it
