    Features

Brimming with color, Tuff Stuff Top Fun hydrangea’s bold lacecap blooms are supported by bright burgundy stems. Each flower is filled with cheery green fertile florets at the center and purple or pink infertile florets around the edges. So inviting to pollinators and quite a lovely cut for florists. And these flowers just keep coming all summer long, first on old wood and later on new wood.

    Maintenance Notes:

Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Supplemental water may be needed in very hot weather. In hotter climates, afternoon shade is beneficial. Like all hydrangeas, it benefits from a 2-3"/5-7 cm layer of shredded bark mulch.

Tuff Stuff hydrangeas should not be pruned except to remove any dead wood in spring, after the new growth begins to emerge on the stems. Older plants can have their oldest stems thinned periodically.

Flower color will vary depending on soil. In acidic soils with abundant aluminum (a naturally occurring soil mineral), color will tend more to purple-blue. In alkaline soil or those lacking in aluminum, flowers will be a deep pink.

    • I bought this PW variety from Gardening With Creekside a PW affilliate. It was in a qt. size container and was well trimmed by the grower.. It was small but now its Sept 1st and its like 2ft x 2ft and full of buds and starting to bloom. I have it in a south west location and it gets full afternoon sun in the most sun strong location. It is doing so well.. I did read a review that it cant tolerate too much sun but i found that not to be true. In that case i think the customer wasnt giving the plant the amount of water that it likes. I have been a gardener for over 20yrs and i do find this plant does like a moist enviornment as all hydrangeas may wilt a bit on harsh sunny days w/high temps. What they need at that point is some additional water in the hot afternoon and they bounce right back. Its just a hydrangea "thing". The plant is set to bloom (its first season) long into the fall as it just started blooming. I do feed my hydrangeas every month w/PW powdered fertilizer and it keeps all my annuals and perennials and flowering shrubs going strong and to their finest. The annuals get fed every third watering and the rest of the perennials and shrubs get once a month feeding.......all strong and flowering to their capacity. Im a huge fan of the PW line of improved plants and will continue to support by my purchases a company that constantly does its best to give us the best good start w/the best tried and true plants.....Bob

    • Hydrangea Tuff Stuff Top Fun Reblooming Mountain Hydrangea lives up to its name with its beautiful pink and white lace cap blooms on a slow growing plant that grows to just 2-3 feet tall by wide in part shade. This is the third year of this one growing in a planter on my patio!

    • The reason why I give 3 stars is because this hydrangea can’t take too much sun even in the morning.I planted on the side of my house and the leaves got crunchy. It wasn’t even 10am. So I have to move it to a different location , i don’t know if is gonna bloom because now it gets less sun is mostly on the shade but the plant is putting new grow. I got the quart size and it was trimmed, I like how healthy it looks but can’t not take more than 3 hours of morning sun here on my zone 9b. I would update about blooming
